RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Between 1981 and 1990 studies on focal ischemia using different models
(gerbil, cat and rat). Elaborations and publications of new experimental
methods for studying cerebral circulation and metabolism (regional brain
pH, hemoglobin content of the brain) Studying of ischemic penumbra using
experimental imaging methods (pH, ATP,glucose, NADH fluorescence).
1986-date New imaging methods for diagnosis and hemodynamic studies
cerebrovascular diseases. Cerebral blood flow and cerebral blood volume
investigations with SPECT on patients suffering from carotid and vertebral
arteries occlusive diseases. Ultrasonic studies in cerebrovascular diseases.
Transcranial Doppler+acetazolamide studies (cerebrovascular reserve capacity
and hemodynamics) in stroke and different stroke-prone patients (migraine,diabetes,
hypertension, SLE). Comparison of different imaging methods (CT, MRI, PET,
ultrasound) with pathological findings in cerebrovascular diseases.
